Bitcoin Magazine held Bitcoin 2022 in Miami and was on April 6-9th this year. The conference was in the Miami Beach Conference Center where 25,000 people attended to listen to likes of Peter Theil, Senator Cynthia Lummis and Jordan Peterson to name a few. The exhibition hall was packed with the leading companies in the space where attendees were able to see the latest products and services. Upstream Data’s Black Box was on display demonstrating the ability to mine at home and mitigate noise and climate as they ran two S9s during the convention.
Jack Mallers, Strike CEO and founder, gave the keynote speech where he announced partnerships with Shopify, Blackhawk, and NCR to offer an alternate payment processing rail to Visa and Mastercard. Jack discusses this is the 1st upgrade to the payment rails since 1949. Now you will be able to purchase from McDonald’s, Walmart, Starbucks, Best Buy, Home Depot, Staples, Wendy’s and Macys to name a few. Users will be able to use any wallet (Green, Cashapp, Zeus, Muun, Strike…) and interact with the open permissionless lightning network.
Matt Odell was in charge of the Open Source stage where he led the efforts to provide high signal on new innovations such as Decentralized Exchanges and Federated Chaumian Mints.
